Engine oil

Hi guys , changing oil and filter once a month just woundering what every ones running.

Recommended oil in Australia is Castrol Edge Oil 5 - 30 a3/b4 fully synthetics,5 - 30 very specific

160 km .

As engine gets older do ppl use thicker oil

Any one use a additive due to the low sulphur diesal?

I use 10w40 full synthetic in mine...mainly because to the stupid temps we get here in Aus.

Unless you've had the latest PCM update, keep to the 5w30. Thicker oil makes it difficult to start, especially diring cold weather.

Ill look in to the update currently changing at 8000 km when the engine note changes

Any problems with the turbo and thicker oil .... ?

Not had any issues thus far. Last PCM update for the Euro-4 machines was 2012...do you have "anti-stall"..??

I find the oil pressure is a bit low in the summer months here in Sydney with the 5w30 oil....
