Right chaps thought it was about time for a lil update.
I've been busy building the new loom for the megasquirt, it's not the easiest thing to get your head around but once you read the diagrams etc it's fairly easy to follow and make up.
The way I've gone about it was make rough measurements on the van and spare engine, make the individual pieces and lay them on the spare engine for fitting/trimming.
I'm using the cops from the xtype as they have the built in ignition driver too so no more untidy spark leads
I should be able to tune the ms to at least start and run the engine, I'll be using tuner studio pro with auto tune so should hopefully tune the fueling itself, I reckon it will need a rolling road tune for the finer adjustments and to set the vvt to open at the best time.
I also picked up a couple of wheels for the front too, they we're on ebay for a bargain price and had to have them.
I've had the idea for a while about getting another pair to match the rears but they only come in 9j width with a negative 35mm offset, so with this in mind I'm going to get them reduced banded (if that makes sense?
)
Taking 2in out of the dish should leave me with 7js and a positive 15mm offset.
I'll probably have to fit standard springs on the front again too now
