2017 custom engine cut out

Hi i have a 2017 custom at 40000 miles i had new belt last june.Van broke down on friday as i set of from a junction it just cut out and would just turn over with no compression.Garage looked at it yesterday and its not the belt he thinks it could be camshaft anyone else had this ?
