Reversing/rear view camera.

Postby Highwayslug » Tue Nov 20, 2018 2:44 pm

Hi, I’m looking for recommendations for a rear view camera for my 2015 custom. Ideally, one that’s not too difficult to fit. Thanks. :D

Hi I fittedhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Rev ... :rk:3:pf:0
It’s a wireless set up so no need to run cables from the cab to the rear doors.
I attached the camera to the right of the reg plate lamp and drilled a hole though the plastic for the connector and ran the cable though the gromet for the lamp wiring. I had to pack the back of the camera out as it pointed to far down for me. I attached the wireless unit inside the door and ran its cables though the door to the rear lights, attached the positive into the reversing light and the ground to the ground bolt. As for the screen and its wireless module I attached them both to a 12v plug and have them plugged into the 12 socket in the cubby behind the steering wheel the wireless unit sits in their and the screen is mounted to the dash. I plan to hard wire them at some point.
The camera comes on as soon as I go into reverse and the quality is good. At night its not the best but I think this is down to glare from the reg plate lamps I plan to try and upgrade the camera to a lamp and camera combohttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-Fit-R ... 0505.m3226 to see if that helps.
I can take some photos if that’s the way your thinking of going

How did you get on with this ? I read somewhere that you can fit a suppressor kit for a better signal.I am thinking of a 7inch screen on the rearviw mirror and one of the cameras integrated into the rear high level light ( LHS_
