Lowering rear custom sport (facelift model)

Postby Jackanson » Tue Nov 06, 2018 4:44 pm

HI all,

I'm thinking about lowering the rear of my Custom Sport (facelift model). There's a company on ebay selling de-cambered leaf springs, these lower it so the size from centre of wheel cap to wheel arch is 400mm. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this and what is all involved.
Thanks

Would like to know more about this.
Are the eibach ones fitted to the ms rt transit custom availae to buy anywhere?
Transit custom isn't listed on there website?
I can make the doorbell ring any time I want, all I have to do is go to the toilet.

I don’t know if it’s the same thing but I had my rear springs lowered so it would fit in the garage, not for appearance or handling
I wrote a diatribe about it in reply to new member “bouncesbeater” under subject “New Member Glos” some time back
Because it’s a topic to welcome new members it didn’t get many views
Basically I used Midland Road Springs of Coleshill Birmingham B46 1JG Tel. 01675 467 387
You take the van to them, they remove the springs, modify them and refit them while you wait
I found them through a link on this forum
They recognise fordtransit.org and offer a deal
I think it’s very reasonable, but you have to make the journey to Birmingham
My van is still under warranty and the dealership made no comment when they had it, I didn’t tell them and it isn’t easily spotted
If you use them see my post about the difficulty in finding the workshop on a crowded industrial estate if you’re relying on satnav
I hope this helps
