Would I be right in thinking that it’s working as intended?

That's daft, why can't they set the speed limits through different means? Nav maps, rds etc. I don't subscribe to anything but my van knows where there is traffic etc and the map is out of date 2015 so that seems reliable. The radio shows the speed limit in the corner at all times which is the best feature, although it can be slightly inaccurate.

Loot, your van knows where there’s traffic because you’re providing data to the traffic system, in return you get info based on what they extrapolate from your data.

I ordered my new van with the “windscreen” feature, it allows me to visibly see road signs etc and act acordingly.

I’m sure all the new features contribute to a more enjoyable drive, but can’t help thinking that it dulls the senses and if you are to solely count on them to save you points and fines, then sooner or later, your in for a disappointment.

That said, if ford charged you for this feature, they should provide it.

Could you threaten to reject the vehicle? I’m not sure of the laws etc, but may speed up your solution if they stand to lose money?

Feel free to ignore all my ramblings

From what he's said, it operates as described in the Ford video that I posted. I'm waiting for his confirmation.

Tps :D

I should really read up on these things but when it is already in my van I tend to not bother
Updating my sat nav card though although I think it is pants and want to get sync 3 with car play.

They are just safety features and are designed to augment good road awareness, not replace it. The Blind Spot Assist system is well worth it, you see the orange light illuminate in your mirror in your peripheral vision as someone is overtaking - if you put your indicator on to move out the light flashes to warn you not to pull out. Also includes Cross Traffic Alert so you don't reverse out into the path of a vehicle or a pedestrian (like a supermarket parking space for example). Anything to help the driver avoid bashing the van is a good thing in my opinion.

I can make the doorbell ring any time I want, all I have to do is go to the toilet.

Who knows, as often happens the op has asked a question and then fcuked off. w***.
However, the video that I linked to shows that it doesn’t rely on satnav.

I have speed sign recognition, adaptive cruise without nav. In this pack it was clearly shown that it shows signs, but it doesnt change speed automaticly. With nav it would do that. I guess intelligent speed assistant would mix information from nav and sing recognition. In finland this pack with nav would been 1600€ more expensive, so my wallet made decision.
