Start/stop still not working despite new battery on Mk8

The start/stop on my Mk8 '69 170bhp transit hasn't worked for a while which, I assumed, was down to the poor battery condition. I have replaced it with a lovely new Bosch S5A11 AGM battery and my neighbour has 'coded it in'. I have been for a 20 min drive to ensure it is fully charged but still the start stop fails with the message 'engine on due to charging'.

The battery was at +12.6v to start with and the alternator is giving us 15.1V. Any one got any ideas? We have had error code P0562.

On the subject of error codes we are not sure which of the many model versions to select on the computor when connected to the OBD. Is there anywhere we can find this info please?

Check the plugs close to the battery terminals, maybe you had one of those loose (Those are for the BMS).

I'm surprised that your jumbo doesn't have 2 batteries? Has one been removed for some reason?

There are many configurations, single and dual standard batteries and single and dual AGM batteries...
