when my conversion is done

Postby spudmab » Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:32 am

Once I have carried out my camper van conversion, and I apply to the dvla to change it from a commercial van to a campervan will the same rules apply when it come to tyres,

my thoughts are that if its not classed as a commercial vehicle then I don’t have to run commercial type tyres, am I right in my thinking, as I have seen loads of factory built campers running alloys, and not sure what tyres they run,

Anyone know if I thinking along the right lines

Most Transits on alloys still use commercial tyres, A properly kitted camper requires commercial tyres because of the weight of the vehicle
