2nd battery

Postby Cheese Monkey » Mon Jun 14, 2010 7:10 pm

Ok so I want to connect a 2nd battery up to run my sound system, fridge and interior lights etc etc.....

Cheapest way of doing it?

Not particularly worried about it lasting for days on end, I dont stay in one place long (when I'm out and about) so it will be charged on the move most days.

I'm thinking another battery (largest and cheapest I can find), either a heavy duty relay (less heavy cables), or heavy duty cab mounted switch and running battery cables to it.

Will be installed under the bonnet.

Budget of £30 (ideally)

Theres plenty of advice on here about where to fit the second battery and how to do it.

As for charging the battery just put a split charge relay in, wire it across the engine bay, job done. The relay should work out about a tenner.

I'm not concerned at all about how to do it, then main thing is I'm just wondering what battery I can get away with?

Bigger the better Battery....
Relay... free from any scrap car!

The Yellow one with the 2 larger spade Terminals from a '90's Ford is best...

Lol that reminds of a mate at work, used to chuck all the parts he needed over the fence to his mate and buy the shittiest small thing on occasion

So a starter relay? A big yellow one from a Ford 8)
