Not really much here , no ones come here complaining about one - engine wise

1.5 ecoblue - believe they are DRY belt driven...linked to Double overhead camshaft that has a short chain between camshafts unlike the 2.0l ecoblue that has problematic wetbelt ..so you are safe

Ignore fords belt change interval that is something like 140,000 or 10 years ..change at 80,000 or 6 years and you are safe ..should also be not as expensive to change as the wetbelt.

Gearboxes at 6 speed are bit hit and miss in really cold weather.

They have DPF's, which are problematic on all cars and vans, if you don't understand them.

Also has addblue system ..which i don't know much about at all .

May have pile of features like traction control , stop start, cruze control, which maybe will bring problems as you get to higher mileages.

That's about all i know ...no more info

Hopefully someone else will come along with more info.
If they don't ..most of the knowledge you will find on the engine and box will be from focus forums .

Kind of hard to find info on this engine .it may be an 8 valve version of the 1.6...so same as the 1.6 with different head . no small chain / DOHC set-up.

if they fit the 16 valve version on any connects ..i don't know. ????

You can see some detail here ...on a failed one ...probably belt failed because of the huge interval ford put on it...he says lobes on the camshaft caused this ...i say belt failed first ..and turned lobes on the camshaft when valves hit the pistons.
Lobes on camshaft on this engine are not part of the camshaft ..they are pressed on during manufacture.
but he take head off and finds no evidence of this ........others have said the other way around from his

later he said 6 out of 8 valves were bent ..so it did happen the way i said.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEvlMMrQiuw

so i say ..get that belt changed more often than ford says

if new van has anymore than 80,000 on it, you are on borrowed time!

specs for 2023 don't know when they changed things
all 1.5's are DOHC

The later 1.5 and 1.6 engines are pretty good so long as the (dry belt) timing belts are changed on schedule, or before.
The post 2006/7 1.8 wet belt engines aren't such good news unless they've been converted to chain. I have an older 1.8 with nearly 200k miles on it, but that one is a dry timing belt version.
