What pipe is this

Postby jr71 » Sun Dec 09, 2018 6:15 pm

Afternoon all,
I've got a 2007 connect tdci and it has a metal pipe that runs from the front right, then round the right side and round the back under the turbo I think. It's a water pipe and it's corroded.
Is it repairable.
Thanks Jay.

I've found out it's the pipe to the oil cooler. Is it a big job to replace?

Had that pipe go faulty on mine last year. It is a water pipe. Had to have a garage do it, as it was 200 miles away from home. Garage told me it was a bitch to get at.
Best of luck!

By RH end do you mean gearbox end?
Think it's held captive by 2 bell housing nuts and possibly 1 P-clip above the oil cooler.
The drive shaft makes access to the oil cooler difficult and you might end up taking the battery tray out to get at it.

I've taken the battery and air box off. It looks like it goes under the turbo and exhaust manifold.
It's never simple.

Yes you'll have to get at the other end from underneath working past the drive shaft, unless you release the driveshaft to gain access.
