Wobble ya pipe!

Postby Pdawber » Mon Nov 26, 2018 10:19 pm

Hi all,

Can anyone with a ford connect tell me if their 7T163A713BC is supposed to be loose?

I was changing the oil and touched it (it can be found underneath just behind the oil sump) and noticed its wobbly / easily moved and I wanted to know whether this was normal or if it needs attention. I guess the only way i can find out is a few people try theirs as a comparison.

Thanks for your help!

That part number throws up power steering pipes.
On my 2008 they are securely fixed to the sub frame behind the sump. If they are flapping in the breeze you must be missing something.

Even on my 1982 Granada, the PAS pipes are oil tight with the pipe still movable at the connection
The manual specifically mentions not over tightening the joint to prevent this movement.
If yours is not leaking, I'd let it have some movement.

So that's 1 for static, and 1 for some movement - any more results to come in?

Thanks for everyones help
