2012 transit connect tdci 110 130000 miles problems

Hi guys ,so I bought this van a few months ago with dpf problems after a new vaporizer sensor and a regen all dpf fault code gone .however on start up first thing in the morning the engine is making a diesel knocking sound until it's warmed up a bit ,van starts fine from cold a d I've checked heater plugs and they are all good. Once the van has warmed up here is a hesitation at about 1800 rpm almost like a misfire.someone suggested blanking the egg vale off but when I checked this has already been done ,so I removed the blank plate but the engine is gutless without the blanking plate and cuts out at junctions so I refitted it .this dosent make any sense as there is o fault codes either .any ideas clever fellas !!
