Most random fault? Sensor?

Postby littlespoon » Tue Dec 11, 2018 8:42 pm

Weirdest scenario, the esp light came on on the way home, and my temp gauge dropped to zero at the same time.
Restarted the engine, all went back to normal.
Five mins later the same thing happened again.
I thought I could hear the engine fan running.
Restarted the van a few times, each time the same thing happened.
Then the last time... the engine management light came on.
At which point I turned her off and didn’t try to start again.
Anyone Else ever had this?
No idea why the esp and temp gauge are connected.
Van is 2013 t260 2.2 fwd.
Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve moved to rural dorset so no local garages :(
Thanks for anything you can add

You'll need to get the codes read before doing anything costly.....guessing often doesn't end well.

Thanks for the reply
Code reader says engine coolant sensor intermittent circuit failure.
I’ve checked online and changing it seems a pain as it’s behind the fuel
Pump?
Is it something a garage would need to do or could someone diy it?
I’m fairly competent around the engine.

Thank you

Just having a look at the drawings of the engine bay at the ford site, is it possible to just remove the pump, and not disconnect the fuel Lines?
Looks like just two bolts.
My old tddi fuel pump was a nightmare but the tdci looks nothing like as bad.

Thanks again!
