Simple cheat for front battery

Postby davyjcb » Sun Dec 09, 2018 11:38 am

Had a van in on Friday and the owner had issues with front battery as he left it parked for weeks on end and he could never get it open ,I never thought of this all he did was attach a 6 mm cable to his front battery and run it out to the engine bay fuse box and affix it there he just Open's the bonnet has a small jumper lead with 2 crocodile clips on it and connects it to the jumper point this powers up the front battery and gets his doors open .of course you can't jump start the van with it because the cables too small but it will get you in

It's not a solution to a bad battery when they are done they should be changed but it has the benefit of enabling those with badly worn key's to get in without breaking windows and otherwise damaging their van's and it doesn't circumvent any of the security systems on the vehicle as all it does is allow someone with a properly coded key which belongs to the vehicle work as it should when the front battery is good

8) that's a bit like connecting it to the jump start point that's under the bonnet then :?

The jump start point goes to the rear battery and cannot pair up the front battery and the front one is the one you need for central locking on vans fitted with a dual set, the 2 battery's are only paralleled up when the ignition switch is turned on and the battery relay energizes and you have to be able to gain entry to the van first
