Mk6 door locking issues

Postby Afjs1413 » Sat Dec 08, 2018 4:05 pm

I’ve had a good look around but can’t find my problem.
I’ve got the mk6 transit with only 1 keyhole(drivers door)
My problem is that the fob ONLY unlocks and locks the sliding and rear doors and not the two front doors.
If I use the key in the drivers door it will only unlock/lock that door.
So passenger door only unlocks from inside the van using the door handle.
I’ve check the fuses under the steering column and have check the loom where possible.
I only have one fob and one key anyway so need to get new(spares) of them.
I know some mk6’s have keys in the passenger doors and rears?
Is it possible to add some? As I don’t mind unlocking all door separately. I’m most worried about the rear doors
Because if the fob starts failing for what ever reason, I’m then unable to open the rear of the van at all?
Thanks

On the mk6 you need to unlock with the key twice to open the rear locks.
And lock twice for the dead locks to activate.

Sounds like you need to reprogram your remote.
Turn ignition on and off 8 time till doors lock/unlock (leave ignition on) now press front unlock and rear unlock buttons on the remote.

Good luck.

That sounds to me that you have a cable failed on the rear doors which us a common fault.
Do the rear doors actually lock/unlock at all?
