mk7 transit wipers wont stop

Hi,

I thought I'd post in this instead of making a new thread, I've got a similar issue.

When I click down on the stalk for just one single wipe, they carry on, and you can also here the relay going too. But now when they are carrying on for a little while, it sounds as off the relay is doubling clicking as it's supposed to go off. After about 30 second of this, it normally stops. Does this suggest a faulty/sticky relay? Or am I looking at something more serious like the chap above?

I had this with my Transit, ended up being the wiper motor..

Oh really? Ok, that seems like a cheap enough fix. I guess it'll be one of those jobs where I replace everything from the cheapest up.

I would also say the motor. The park switch will be failing

Not got a fix for this, within the van, but if all else fails, move to Scotland, wipers are on permanently here...

Yeah the motor drives a disc / cog that has 3 contacts plates on the back of it, then you have 3 needle contacts that are connected to the contact plates on the back of the cog. These needle contacts wear away / causing them not to contact on the back of the disc contact plates anymore, thus causing the wiper motor not being able sense the parking position, thus keeps clicking the relay inside the fusebox / keeps the wipers going all the time....

Ive got exactly the same problem as you what did it turn out to be please ? Rig did the new motor solve the problem ?
