Black Smoke 2007 Transit T350 Mk7 2.4 RWD 140hp

Hi all

Van is black smoking badly on acceleration and down on power. Fault codes are below. Obviously problem with EGR but that much smoke makes me think there's something else at play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your EGR valve is not well. Either replace it or get it mapped out. Black smoke is usually caused by a split boost hose or intercooler...give them a good check over and look for oil stains on the outside of them. Of course a poorly EGR valve won't help.

You have to physically look at them, pull them off, squeeze and inspect if necessary.
