Vacuum pipe

This small pipe comes from the vacuum pump and goes in to the fire wall next to the interior heater pipe does anyone know where it goes and what it does please

I can only give you a general answer .
1. some vehicles have an AC system that uses vacuum to assist in the operation of shutters and doors in the AC system box.
2. some vehicles have a canister to hold extra vacuum ..a reservoir .. this could be fitted under the dash for space issue reasons.
3. Some have both.

Like the last guy said ...if you have air con then vacuum hose goes in to the back of your heater controls on your dashboard

This hose has nothing to do with air conditioning. It is connected to the back of the heater control panel to a special valve on the supply fan speed switch. This switch usually has three positions, rotated to the right for air supply from the outside, and three positions, rotated to the left, for closed circuit in the cabin. And it is for this internal closed circuit that the vacuum actuator of the appropriate flap in the heater is activated by the fan knob.
