It is enough to buy a turbine cartridge and replace it yourself.
Or in the garage.
Replacing the cartridge can take from two to four hours.

I bought such a cartridge from this seller.
In Europe, the choice of sellers more.

New off e**y ~£180.

Make sure you know what has ruined the old one, and have fixed it.

I've gone through the same, oil leaking passed the seals and into the intake. I shopped around and bought from a local dealer an aftermarket turbo ($400 Aud, about 200 quid), that way I get 12 months warranty. Will fit it soon when I do the timing belt and full service. An original ford turbo was around 600 pounds.

Is it definately the turbo seal(s), and not oil being drawn from the rocker cover? - check for the loose rocker pillar bolt.

Quick look on e**y has them listed for £140ish. The one I got needed the wastegate adjusting to raise the blow-off pressure a bit - it came set at 0.7Bar.

is this a turbo conversion ? Ive converted mine and at first with a brand spanking new cartridge it let loose a hell of a lot of oil out of the intake, I found it was the oil return pipe was made too long and wasnt in a direct line to the sump, also make sure the oil breather is venting back into the turbo intake or atmosphere!

im just doing mine at the moment, 99 VG.
just got the old one out. what a stupid design.
i a managed to get mine off without removing the intermediate downpipe piece, with a ridiculous amount of effort.
had to remove the airbox andeverything rom the area, then loosen the bolts whcih tighten cartridge to the exhasut side, then sitck a pipe in the turbine outlet and hamer it down to rotate the entire thing around to get acccess to the bolt at the sidw wedged in bnear the engine under the exhasut manifold. This is compeltely stuck after nearly 20 years of rust and heat cycles, effectively rust welded.
No room to put a long spanner or move anything wiht any mechanical advantage so i stuck a small 13mm ring spanner on the nut, and wedged the ring spanner on the engine block then hit the turbo with a hammer to push the spanner down against the engine which undid the nut. I felt quite clever.
every other nut was jsut a tiring process of jsut turning it 1/8th of a turn at a time.
Took 4 hours to remove the turbo.
absolutely fercking stupid design.

Easiest is split the joint at the turbo stub to header/downpipe, remove oil pipes and plug oilways, and remove the entire manifold and turbo assy from the head.
