Supervan1 question

Postby Transit Supervan » Mon Aug 28, 2023 8:23 am

Hi

Long time reader here, first time posting

I am hoping someone can help me please, I am wondering what wheels did the original Supervan1 use?
Does anyone have a clear photo of the wheels used?

I assume they are GT40 wheels?

Thanks

These are the highest resolution photos I have been able to find but they still don't clearly show what the wheels are.

I have dozens of pics of SV1, and none of them show the wheels, you can't even see them in the old video clips!

They are not GT40 wheels, they were one-offs made by Revolution, and I believe they were in this RFX 5 spoke style:

Hi conrod, thanks for the response, I've always found this image while digging around online of the wheels being re-made for Supervan1 from the September 2021 issue of Classic Ford

those are Image 3 piece wheels which the owner had made, which were about the closest he could get without getting one off billet wheels made. They are very close, although the rim detail is a little bit different.

It is a long term project and dream I've had for a long time now, I've always been fascinated by the SuperVan's

They are very similar to the Penta wheels used by MB.
