mk3 into mk2

can you tell me if a speedo and cluych cable from a mk3 transit will fit into a mk2. i have a mk3 gearbox fitted in the mk2. regards jan

:? the speedo should fit ,but the clutch cable probly wont as the mk3 uses a ratchet type clutch on most of them! so you can use the mk2 cable onto a mk3 gearbox! :wink:

The early Mk3s are the same I think, but we use a universal clutch cable (manual adjustments) anyway, fits both the 4 and 5 speed gearboxes. Which Mk3 gearbox is it?

its a mt75. thanks for the help the speedo cable is in also the clutch cable.all i have to do now is sought out a sutable fuel pipe and hopefully it will be tickley boo.

You may also need to change the speedo drive in the gearbox (it's only a palstic/nylon cog, you get to it from the ouside and don't have to open the gearbox) for the speedo to read acurately. Ish.

I put a mk3 engine into my mk2, I used a mk2 clutch cable connected to the mk3 gearbox. speedo cable was the same too
