2006 ford transit mk7
2.4L tdci 140ps
Swb,medium height,single side door,barn doors.
6 speed Rear wheel drive, 4.27 axle ratio.
High spec glx model with heated screen/mirrors/electric windows and air conditioning.
98k miles with service history.

Since 2020

Rear brakes,new turbo,break pipes replaced. Serviced etc.
Purchase price £1350+ 100 for insurance and transport to collect it.

Progress report so far.

Removed the tatty plywood interior and roof cubby
And checked around it for rust appraisal.

It's not that bad, 2 full sills and a long plate on the inner sills to match. Front n/s inner arch panel or plate. Today I knocked the inner rear arch and the sealant and metal came off so it'll be a length of angle iron on both of them to secure that. The bit you've seen in the photo in front of the n/s/r wheel it's a jacking point I think. The back has had a lot of welding done before so it's good.

Today I removed the rear bumper and spare wheel. It mostly wants a good rub down then a go of jenolite if yous recommend it then hammerite then shutz. I may replace the brake pipes.

It's had a brand new n/s/f caliper and o/s/r caliper.

The whole underneath is crusty , chassis,exhaust,sub frames,axle etc like it has be laid up in a field. I would like to remove it all and clean it properly but I'm not sure I will have time.
Tidied the layout today too give me more room. For now it's all good progress.

Decided that even though I could spend hours plating the inner rear arches, I would spend 100gbp on 2 new ones. Spent an hour so far removing the old ones and drilling the spots out etc. I'll spot weld the new ones in. And actually spend a lot less time and consumables I think plus it's all new.

Sorry Iain yes I have,I needed to stop I could remove the Reinforcement bit, but more because the step bumper I bought won't let me use the tow bar as is . I want a detachable 1 anyway.

Chasing the rust along the n/s to the front, removed the wing and door.

Looks like a religious process, very holy what’s the big plan with this, roof chop, 3.2L engine, flames on the sides, mattress in the back

I think with my 2.4 remapped I'll be spinning in every gear anyway
