Yup, I missed 3 small bits. Didn't fail on anything else though - which is a bonus!

Was going to weld it up today bit

A) I had to put a new spring, and wheel on the volvo - the spring broke in.to a perfect blade to slice the sidewall off
I need to move it to get where I can weld, so had to be done

B) The camper in front of that has a flat battery

C) someone came in for a diagnostic job

D) it was raining

E) I really really could not be arsed

Weldathon continued...

I've not done a great deal this evening leaving me with a lot to do on Thursday evening for the Friday re-test.

I am hoping to sort the 3 "real" advisories at the same time... (nip up a wheel bearing, change a propshaft and deal with play in a rear damper bush - might need nipping up, if not swap the dampers).

I swear, scouts honour, that there was no obvious rust under the drivers battery when I was poking around there - but MOT mans pokey stick said different.

I knew about the hole in the sill half way down - its not within 30cm of anything structural so should have got away with it, and the bit under the step is tiny - I just missed it.

Im going to need to replace both battery trays at some point too :(

No Photos because I couldn't be bothered.

It ended up being an 11pm finish on thursday.

All welded up now, but I ran out of gas on Thursday - before I had started the bit under the battery, so an emergency run to halfords (which is nearly an hour each way) to get some flux cored wire and tips....

Its horrible stuff and I used the entire reel before the patch was finished - so I had to break out the 2nd one which I was going to keep for an emergency.

Went for retest and..... failed! Not really it was a pass.

Fixed the wheel bearing play and the play in the shock absorber bush (the bolt just needed tightening). I was going to replace the rear UJ too - but I couldn't get the old one off (even with the air chisel) with the propshaft in situ so I will have to remove it at some point.
