Circuit diagram filter housing sensor.

Postby sherwoodcycles » Mon May 15, 2023 11:25 am

This should apply to many variants....I have looked on a mk7 and a custom circuit diagram, but cannot see the sensor that's located on the fuel filter housing at the top. Not sure if it's a sensor or switch but regardless, I cannot find it on the circuit diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated.

Euro-4 or Euro-5..?? They are different.

If Euro-4, they don't have a sensor at the top....if you're talking about the "yellow" thing at the top..?? Most people think it's a pump or primer...but it's actually just a filter clogging/blockage indicator.

Ah...so it's a Euro-5. I believe the sensor is a filter "differential pressure" sensor, if I understand it correctly, it senses "before and after" filter pressure and determines whether the filter is blocked or not.

OK thanks. I don't seem to be able to find it on my circuit diagrams but at least I know what it's there for.

It may throw a fault code if not present, I suspect the PCM is expecting a signal of some sort from it.
