difficult to start

Transit, 2007, 2.4 rwd. Problems in the past so replaced egr, then later pcv and scv and was running fine. Left it for a couple of weeks as was working away and now it's a pig to start. Motor will spin for ages but won't fire, it eventually started and so I took it for a 5 mile drive to get it warmed up but couldn't get it to fire again even when the engine was hot. Started eventually so yesterday replaced fuel filter (genuine ford) but still took forever to start. Batteries are both good so anyone any suggestions what to try next please!

Have you had the codes read..??

Thanks, I had an idea that might be a possibility, it's going in for a check up at the weekend so we'll see what happens!
