Engine cuts off when decelerating Transit MK6

Hi, fairly new to the forum and look forward to any assistance. I have a 2002 MK 6 Duratorq 2.4 DI (90PS) Engine Power 89KW RWD with 54847 kms. While driving and we decelerate, the engine quits which is dangerous as the steering locks up. We bounce starter and off she goes until we decelerate again .

Finally got someone with a diagnostic box and came up with Fault Codes P 1564 & P 1664 which won't clear. Can anyone tell me what this means and how can I resolve this issue . Note I'm based in Trinidad in the Caribbean and there are no spares available locally, so I need to import from the UK and have done so in the past.

Greatly appreciate your assessment and advice.

Be very carefull bump starting as it can jump the timing chain.

Both them codes point to the fuel pump I think.

Those codes point to a dead/dying fuel pump....timing solenoids can let go too. Make sure you check the loom to the pump to see if it's all good.
