Brake Fluid Spec Question

Postby MinOMins » Fri Nov 16, 2018 4:20 pm

Hello,

Looking for thoughts/advice...

I changed the brake fluid on my 2010 Mk7 Van a couple of years ago.
Yesterday I done a service and realised the brake fluid needs topped up. It seems the spec has changed...
Is it possible to mix the two specs?

Old spec: SUPER DOT 4, WSS-M6C57-A2

New Spec: DOT 4, LV High Performance, WSS-M6C65-A2

Thanks

Brake fluid level should never need topping up you may have a leak or since you change the brakes fluid your brake pads have worn down so fluid level will drop in the brake reservoir so if you top it up now when you fit new pads it will blow fluid out of the reservoir but saying that don’t let it get lower then the clutch feed from the reservoir look for leakage on both systems and pad wear sorry I have no idea about fluid spec

Yes, they are chemically compatible and can be mixed.
Drink moderately, eat healthily, exercise regularly, die anyway.
